Answer:

a.) P(HH|C)=2/5

Explanation:

Given following:

  • P(HH) = 7
  • P(C) = 10
  • P(HH ∩ C) = 4
  • P(HH ∪ C) = 13

Solving steps:

\sf P(HH|C) = \dfrac{P(HH \cap C) }{P(C)}

\sf P(HH|C) = \dfrac{4 }{10}

\sf P(HH|C) = \dfrac{2 }{5}

What are the possible numbers of positive, negative, and complex zeros of f(x) = −3x4 −
Anna007 [38]

Answer:

b.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to look at sign changes in f(x) to determine the possible positive real roots.

f(x)=-3x^4-5x^3-x^2-8x+4

There is only one sign change here, between the -8x and the +4.  So that means there is only 1 possible real positive root.

Now we have to look at sign changes in f(-x) to determine the possible negative real roots.

f(-x)=-3x^4+5x^3-x^2+8x+4

There are 3 sign changes here.  That means there are either 3 negative roots or 3-2 = 1 negative root.  So we have:

1 positive

3 or 1 negative

We need to pair them up now with all the possible combinations.

If we have 1 positive and 1 negative, we have to have 2 imaginary

If we have 1 positive and 3 negative, we have to have 0 imaginary

Keep in mind that the total number or roots--positive, negative, imaginary--have to add up to equal the degree of the polynomial.  This is a 4th degree polynomial, so we will have 4 roots.

20 POINTS <br> Can someone please explain what I did wrong?
mr_godi [17]

Your diagram is correct.

I would have however written the Given as stated

Given :

XB≅XA≅AY≅YB ( If they are equidistant then they are all the same distance, thus the values will all be equal)

Prove:

<x≅<b≅<y≅<a (this is because a square is formed) < is angle

XM≅YM≅AM≅MB (The fact that the previous statements are true means that this is a square, if M is the midpoint than all these segments are equal)

MX≅MY

Im not sure what you did wrong besides maybe you didn't prove it well enough, everything is correct that you have written. I cant read the pen but it looks like you were missing a step.

Answer:

51.39 units³

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume (V) of the prism is calculated as

V = area of base × height

Here area of base = 5.71 and height = 9, thus

V = 5.71 × 9 = 51.39 units³
