Situational irony is the most appropriate to describe the situation described because the outcome of the events was contrary to that of the protagonists.

What is situational irony?

Situational irony is a type of irony that focuses on describing situations or events in which the protagonists make a decision and the results of that decision are contrary to what they expected.

What happened in this situation?

In a situation of situational irony, a friend and I made the decision to form a soccer team to win the city championship. We gather all our friends and buy uniforms to be able to participate.

However, after several games and poor results, everything was the opposite of what was expected. While we hoped to win the championship we occupied the last place in the classification.

DS (o....... It depends (It is a way to say you are not
A) sad
B) happy
C) certain
svet-max [94.6K]

Answer: C) certain

Explanation:

When someone replies a question or query with, " it depends", it shows that they are not certain of the specific answer to give.

Rather, they are more certain about the answer if a particular scenario of the query plays out.

For instance, Peter asks Deshawn, "Are you going to church today"? and Deshawn who is not yet certain replies, "It depends on if I finish reading early".
