Cellular respiration was occurring, but not in sufficient quantities to support growth.

What is germinating soybean?

 • Soybeans that are germinating will have a higher rate of cellular respiration than soybeans that are not germinating.
 • Glycolysis is the first step in cellular respiration and can take place with or without oxygen.
 • Anaerobic respiration is cellular respiration that takes place without oxygen.
 • Aerobic respiration is the type of cellular respiration that takes place when there is oxygen present.
 • Because they are growing and are more active than non-germinating peas, peas that are in the process of germination utilize more oxygen.

Which of the following statements can be attributed to water's versatility as a solvent
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

The polar nature of water make water universal solvent.

Explanation:

The polar nature of water is responsible for the versatility as a solvent because due to this polar nature of water maximum number of solutes or chemicals dissolved in it and it is also called universal solvent. Polar nature means making positive and negative polar which attracts the opposite charge atoms and making covalent bond with them. The hydrogen has partial positive charge so it attracts negative charge atom while oxygen has partial negative charge so it attracts positive charge atom.

Describe the beneficial uses of bacterial toxins in medicine.
worty [1.4K]
The beneficial uses of bacterial toxins in medicine are more and more used lately. For example, Botulinum toxin is a toxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum which has paralytic effects (injection of this toxin into muscle relax specific muscles). Botulinum toxin accomplishes his effects on the neuromuscular junction where he prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (Ach). Utilization of this toxin is in the treatment of various muscle spasms. It is also used in the treatment of migraines. Diphtheria toxin is also one of the toxins used for medical purposes for the treatment of cutaneous and non-Hodgkin T-cell lymphomas. Some bacterial toxins can be used in the treatment of tumours. For example, immunotoxin, which is protein made by fusion of modified antibody and toxin. The antibody binds to an antigen on the target cell, the toxin then enters via endocytosis and kills the cell. Commonly used bacterial toxins in immunotoxins are Diphtheria toxin and the Pseudomonas exotoxin.
