Add up the number of students within the random sample data:
32+26+28+22 = 108

We can then use proportional fractions / cross-multiply to answer the question.

In a sample size of 108 students, 32 of them preferred Movie A.
There are 900 students in total.

\frac{32}{108} =\frac{x}{900}

32*900 = 28800

108*x = 108x

108x = 28800

x = 266\frac{2}{3} or \frac{800}{3}

In decimal form that is approximately 266.667 and round that to the nearest whole number, you get 267 students who would prefer Movie A.

Sam read 6 chapters in 2 hours. If he continues to read at this same rate, how many chapters will he read in 1 day?
Vilka [71]

Answer:

He will read 72 chapters in 1 day

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us use the ratio method to solve this question

∵ Sam read 6 chapters in 2 hours

∵ He continues to read at this same rate for 1 day

→ We must change the day to hours

∵ 1 day = 24 hours

∴ We need to find how many chapters he will read in 24 hours

→ Chapter  :  Hour

→   6            :   2

→   x            :   24

→ By using cross multiplication

∵ x × 2 = 6 × 24

∴ 2x = 144

→ Divide both sides by 2

∵ \frac{2x}{2} = \frac{144}{2}

∴ x = 72

∴ He will read 72 chapters in 1 day

Find the rate of change for f(x)=x^2-8x+15 from x=0 to x=4
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

-4

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the rate of change for f(x) = x² - 8x + 15 from x = 0 to x = 4

The rate of change is the rate at which a variable changes over a specific period of time.

Averate rate of change: \frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}

First, we need to find the functions for when x = 0 and when x = 4:

For x = 0

f(x) = x² - 8x + 15

f(0) = 0² - 8(0) + 15

f(0) = 0 - 0 + 15

f(0) = 15

For x = 4

f(x) = x² - 8x + 15

f(4) = (4)² - 8(4) + 15

f(4) = 16 - 32 + 15

f(4) = -16 + 15

f(4) = -1

Averate rate of change: \frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}

A = \frac{f(4)-f(0)}{4-0}

A = \frac{-1-15}{4-0}

A = \frac{-16}{4}

A = -4

Therefore, the rate of change from x = 0 to x = 4 is -4.

Hope this helps!

<1 = 85º

<5,4,3 and <2 are congruent because of the alternate interior angle rule. Since you know what <3 and <2 are, you should know that inbetween those two angles are <30 (180-150). Since you know that that angle is <30, you also know the angle above it is <30 because of the vertex rule. Since you know that, you that the angle we just solved for, <1, and <2 have to equal 180º, so in order to solve that do 180-65-30= 85. Therefore, <1= 85º

Hope this helped :)

What is p(-2)? <br><br> Rounded to the nearest tenth please:)
allochka39001 [22]

Answer:

0.2

Step-by-step explanation:

\text{f(x) = }\dfrac{90}{9+\frac{50}{e^x}}

\text{f(-2) = }\dfrac{90}{9+\frac{50}{e^{-2}}}

\text{f(-2) =} \dfrac{ 90 }{9 + 50*e^2}

Now we can work out the denominator separately.

9 + 50*e^2

9 + 50*7.389

9 + 369.45

378.45

Now use this number to get the final answer.

f(-2) = 90 / 378.45

f(-2) = 0.237   To the nearest tenth

f(-2) = 0.2

There was a lot of movement for that e^x factor make sure you study carefully how that moved around and why. It's a good question. Get what you can from it.
