In "Landscape with the Fall of Iacrus" how does William Carlos Williams quickens the pace of the poem as follows. The brief lines, it may be claimed, focus the reader's attention.

Line breaks are now punctuation, and the reader must deal with pauses and pace.

What is pace?

Pacing relates to how quickly or slowly the reader moves through the tale.

The duration of a scene and the rate at which you, the writer, transmit information decide this.

What is the difference between a soliloquy and a monologue?
Rudik [331]

Answer:

soliloquy: talking to yourself

monologue : talking to others

Explanation:

A monologue is when there's more than one party involved, like two people talking to each other, but essentially all the talking is done by one person. Imagine a parent scolding a child, and the child doesn't respond. Or a comedian performing alone on stage in front of an audience. There's only one person speaking... but to someone else.

A soliloquy also implies only one person talking... but it's mostly in cases where there's no other participant in the communication. Like when you're talking to yourself. So, there's only one person talking again, but not to any one else.

maks197457 [2]

“They scrambled to their places by the rowlocks / and all in line dipped oars in the gray sea” (Homer 6-7).

In-text MLA citations should include the author's last name and page number when available. The citation must be after the quotation, but outside of the quoted text. The citation should be in parenthesis and not include a comma between the author's last name and page number. The comma is extraneous. In order to make it clear that the parenthetical citation belongs to the quoted text and not the sentence following, there needs to be a comma after the citation - not before.
