The three things recently debated, by the U.N. General Assembly include international peace and security, human rights, and the development of Africa.

What is United Nations?

It should be noted that the United Nations is an organization whose purpose is to maintain international peace and security.

The rotating countries currently serving on the Security Council include China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Norway, India, and Mexico.

The current secretary general of United Nations is Antonio Guterres. He is from Portugal.

The instances where the Security Council has signed off on an issue and acted on it include the veto in December 2017 regarding the issue in the Middle East and in 2019 which was regarding the situation in Venezuela.

A case that was gone before the International Court of Justice was Corfu Channel vs Albania. It was a case regarding state responsibility for damages at sea and the doctrine of the innocent passage.

A thing that the Economic and Social Council is currently working on is to find solutions to international economic, health, and social related problems.

An instance that the U.N. has gone on a Peacekeeping mission was in Cote d'ivoire.

An instance that the U.N. has failed to protect, human rights was that it failed to prevent genocide in Bosnia and Rwanda.
