Who was William Edward Burghardt Du Bois?

• William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was an American sociologist, socialist, historian, and Pan-Africanist civil rights campaigner.
• He was born on February 23, 1868, and he passed away on August 27, 1963.
• Du Bois, who was raised in a largely accepting and integrated community while growing up in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, completed his graduate work at Harvard University, where he became the first African American to receive a doctorate, and after becoming a professor of history, sociology, and economics at Atlanta University.
