The roles of caregivers can be compared to those of parents in the sense that Caregivers are part of a child's support structure, but not all caregivers are parents.

What is the difference between caregiver and parent?

A caregiver serves as one that gives care to someone that is in need of help to take care of themselves.

They may render help to a child, an adult, or an older adult, which could be because of of an injury or disability as well as chronic illness such as Alzheimer's disease.

It should be noted that Caregivers are part of a child's support structure, but not all caregivers are parents.
