The facial nerve (cn vii) passes through the opening in the temporal bone called the stylomastoid foramen.

Stylomastoid foramen:

The foramen between the styloid and mastoid processes of the temporal bone of the skull is known as the stylomastoid foramen. It serves as the facial canal's terminus and carries the facial nerve and stylomastoid artery. Bell's palsy may be brought on by facial nerve irritation in the stylomastoid foramen. An unexplained episode of facial muscular paralysis or weakening is known as Bell's palsy. Over the course of 48 hours, it gets worse suddenly.

The stylomastoid foramen is where the 7th cranial nerve leaves the skull and enters the parotid gland at its deep surface. The nerve splits into two major branches, the temporofacial branch, and the cervicofacial branch, right next to the parotid duct.

PLZ HELP ME Question 3
Flauer [41]

Answer:

It's impossible to predict the phenotype of the offspring by only observing the parents because DNA from their grandparents can affect the offspring as well.

Explanation:

DNA is combined from the parents to create offspring. When that offspring reproduces their children not only possess DNA from their parents but from their grandparents as well. Mixing together two separate DNA's from two different family trees can result in rare genetic mutations which results in the offspring looking different from their parents but showing resemblance to their grandparents. This is why you have to look at the phenotypes of more then just the two parents because there are more possibilities, including what their grandparents looked like.

How are carbohydrate polymers formed?
Lady_Fox [76]
Cells build carbohydrate polymers by using energy to form glycosidic linkages, the bonds between monosaccharides. A dehydration synthesis reaction forms a bond between carbon atoms in two monosaccharides, sandwiching an oxygen atom between them and releasing a water molecule. Hope this helps!
