4 0

0.44  the frequency of the homozygous individuals in this population.

What is Hardy-Weinberg principle ?

The Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium is a principle stating that the genetic variation in a population will remain constant from one generation to the next in the absence of disturbing factors.

From the Hardy Weinberg Law of Population and Genetics,

We have

x²+2xy+y²=1 and

x+y=1

where

x = frequency of the dominant allele in the population

y = frequency of the recessive allele in the population

x2 = percentage of homozygous dominant individuals

y2 = percentage of homozygous recessive individuals

2xy = percentage of heterozygous individuals

Given 2xy = 0.56

from here, y=0.28/x, (the frequency of the recessive allele ) can be obtained

we need to find 'x'

recall, x+y=1, x=1-y

substituting this gives us

y=0.28/(1-y), which becomes,

y(1-y)=0.28

y²- y + 0.28 (quadratic equation)

Solving this to find 'y' gives two imaginary values of y = 0.44 but ,

There is no imaginary solution  .

Complete hydrolysis of a nonapeptide gave 3 ala, 2 phe, 2 asp, gly, and ser. Reaction of the nonapeptide with Sanger's reagent (
Wewaii [24]

Answer:

Alanine is obtained as the first amino acid, taking into account that the reaction with the Sanger reagent hydrolyzes N- (2,4-dinitrophenyl) alanine. thus with the fragments of the partial hydrolysis they are organized to create a polypetidic chain

ala-asp-gly-ala

gly-ala-phe

phe-be-wing

be-wing-phe-asp

We obtain that the correct sequence of the peptide is "ala-asp-gly-ala-phe-ser-ala-phe-asp"

Describe how each of these 4 processes can affect salinity. Are they increasing or decreasing the salinity?
Charra [1.4K]

Iceberg: The formation of icebergs increases salinity because it is taking liquid water out of the ocean without taking the salt.

Sea Ice: Same as icebergs, this increases salinity because it removes liquid water.

Runoff: This decreases salinity because it is introducing fresh water into the ocean, reducing the salt to water ratio.

Evaporation: This would increase salinity because it is removing liquid water from the ocean, increasing the salt to water ratio.

Hope this helps!

Which of the following statements about the phosphorus cycle is false? The main abiotic reservoir for phosphorus is in the soil.
garik1379 [7]

Answer:

Answer for the question:

Which of the following statements about the phosphorus cycle is false? The main abiotic reservoir for phosphorus is in the soil. Plants release dissolved phosphate ions into the soil. Guano can be used by farmers to add phosphorus to the soil. Phosphates that drain from soils into the sea becomes part of new rock and will cycle back into living organisms.

is given below.

Explanation:

The correct answer is given below.

Soil is not the main reservoir for the phosphorous. The main antibiotic phosphorous is in the rocks.
