I’m general, the line “These are the times that try mens souls.” is a very scary thing to hear. This particular line is inferring that men of that specific time period are going through a rough time, and being tried by the bad and evil surrounding them. I personally would have felt alarmed reading this line, I would have been frightened for my peers and my country.
