In chapter 17, the first woman to convert to Christianity is Nneka. She converted because she is pregnant and previously had twins who were thrown away in the evil forest. By converting, she wished that the Christians will not force her to throw away her children if they are born as twins and also as an escape to leave her abusive husband.
