Federalist supported the bank, they were typically pro-British in foreign policy, and wanted a loose interpretation of the Constitution and wanted a strong central government. the democratic republicans on the other hand opposed the national bank, were pro-french in foreign policy, and wanted a strict interpretation of the Constitution and a weak central government <span />
