What is the text structure of this passage? my brother and i often argue over who has the more effective studying technique for

tests. my brother studies by rereading the entire section of the textbook that he’s going to be tested on; he says that this method helps refresh his memory and gain information that he may have missed the first time. i think it’s important to refresh your memory as well, but i find flashcards to be more effective. i use my notes from class to make flashcards on all the terms and processes discussed in class. then i read the flash cards out loud because hearing the words helps me to remember them better. there are pros and cons to both methods, but i guess it comes down to which one is more effective for you.

The correct answer is option C) compare and contrast

The brothers in the paragraph are comparing and evaluating their learning methods. They are thus using the compare and contrast method.

Points of comparison

The boys argue and compare their methods of learning and preparing for the test frequently. They even evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each method in order to assess the pros and cons of both methods.

They highlight the fact that it is a subjective process in their argument's conclusion. One method may work better for some persons to learn than another, and some persons may find the other method more effective.

The boys are comparing and evaluating their learning methods as a result. They are using the compare and contrast method.

Which would most likely be found in informal writing?
DiKsa [7]

Answer:

(C) opinion statements

Explanation:

Formal writings, can be described as a type of writing that is done in a business or academic setting, or other contexts that require the use of formal language.

We can typically ascertain whether a written document is intended for this type of settings based on the language it uses: it tends to use words that you don’t commonly encounter in conversational settings; book language, so to speak. Another characteristic is the complex sentence structure; you would rarely see a sentence where only a subject and verb exists, without being accompanied by other word types. It would also use lengthy descriptions – long winded explanations for things that can actually be summed up shortly.

These things – you would never find in informal writing; however, you will find (C) opinion statements, in informal written communication; such as text messages, chats, and informal letters.
