Schist is a medium grade sheet-like grain rock, whereas slate is hard and fine-grained rocks with a salty cleft that is caused by the formation of minerals as a result of the metamorphic of the grain ground rocks.

<h3><u>What is slate?</u></h3>
  • Through low-grade regional metamorphism, slate is transformed from an original shale-type sedimentary rock made of clay or volcanic ash into a fine-grained, foliated, homogenous metamorphic rock. It is the foliated metamorphic rock with the finest grain size.
  • Foliation may occur in planes that are not parallel to the direction of metamorphic compression and instead line up with the original sedimentary layers.
  • Slate's foliation is known as "slaty cleavage." Strong compression is what causes fine-grained clay flakes to grow back in planes perpendicular to the compression, which is what causes it.
  • Many slates exhibit a feature called fissility when carefully "cut" by striking parallel to the foliation, with a specialized tool in the quarry. This results in smooth flat sheets of stone that have long been used for roofing, floor tiles, and other purposes.

Because of its extremely tiny grain size and flat grains, phyllite has a particularly sparkly texture. The largest grain size is seen in schist. Schists are made up of scales, whereas phyllite has a foliated texture.

  • Muscovite and biotite are two minerals that are frequently found in micas and produce the parallel, extremely fine-grained flakes of rock that are seen in igneous rocks with feldspar and quartz.
  • Phyllite, schist, gneiss, and slate are the rocks with the lowest grades, respectively.

elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

Answer:

B)Those with private health insurance may drop their coverage.

Explanation:

One of the most common suggestions that people make when it comes to fixing the problem of healthcare is that of providing free healthcare. However, in order for this to work effectively, the government would need to provide free healthcare to everyone, not just to those without private insurance. If the government were to provide healthcare only to those with no insurance, it is likely that people who do have private insurance may drop their coverage, as they would rather get this for free than pay for it.

You are called by the owner of a restaurant for a female patron who spilled hot tea onto her right thigh. Your assessment reveal
slava [35]

Answer:

The assessment of the burn area reveals that the restaurant patron likely has a first degree burn because there is no blister formation, but there is some redness, swelling, and pain.

Explanation:

First degree burns are generally not serious and can be self-treated with over the counter painkillers and burn creams to help lower the risk of infection. Care should be taken to make sure the skin that is burned is protected from further damage by friction with clothing or shoes for instance if the burn is on the foot. With the injury having been caused by hot tea, this is a scald injury. The patron can treat it as well with cool or lukewarm running water for 20 minutes to help ease the pain.

labwork [276]

Answer: Jack can make 6 smoothies with the yogurt.

Explanation:

Cups of Yogurt available with Jack =1\frac{5}{3}=\frac{8}{3}

Cups used for 1 smoothie = \frac{2}{5}

Thus if \frac{2}{5} cups of yogurt can make = 1 smoothie

\frac{8}{3} cups of yogurt can make = \frac{1}{\frac{2}{5}}\times  \frac{8}{3}=\frac{20}{3}=6smoothies

Thus Jack can make 6 smoothies with the yogurt.
