The thing which the Time Traveller is distracted by is B. Space

The Time Traveller meets Weena who is a lovely creature and during his search for the time machine he decides to enter a well he sees and he is also sure that no one has used the machine because he has the lever.

What happened in the book?

The Time Traveller is surprised when he looks for his time machine and cannot find it and this leads him on a desperate search as he meets with Morlocks and tries to recover it.

Therefore, The Time Traveller meets Weena who is a lovely creature and during his search for the time machine, he decides to enter a well he sees he is also sure that no one has used the machine because he has the lever.

With this in mind, we can see that he is distracted by space as someone has obviously moved it in space and this is what he is distracted by as he meets the Morlocks whom he escapes from.
