Answer: 1 / 2

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given information </u>

\frac{1}{3} ~+~\frac{1}{6}

<u>Convert the denominator (3, 6) into the same common denominator</u>

Least Common Multiple (LCM) of 3 and 6 = 6

=\frac{1~*~2}{3~*~2} ~+~\frac{1}{6}

=\frac{2}{6} ~+~\frac{1}{6}

<u>Combine two fractions</u>

=\frac{2~+~1}{6}

=\frac{3}{6}

<u>Simplify the fraction by dividing 3 on both numerator and denominator</u>

=\frac{3~/~3}{6~/~3}

=\Large\boxed{\frac{1}{2} }

Hope this helps!! :)

\Large\texttt{Answer}

\bf{\cfrac{1}{2}}

\overline{\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad\qquad}

\Large\texttt{Process}

Do you remember that we cannot add fractions when they have unlike denominators? We can onyl add fractions as long as they have the same denominator!

So here's the big idea: fractions must have the same denominator.

If we multiply the first fraction by 2, then both fractions will have the same denominator. *

* <em>Why 2??</em>

<em />

-  Because:

We need to find the least common multiple of 3 and 6, which is 6. Next, what should 3 be multiplied by to result in 6? That's right, 2.

Also, we can only multiply the denominator by 2 as long as we multiply the numerator by 2!

So that's why we multiply the whole fraction by 2

\bf{\cfrac{1\times2}{3\times2}+\cfrac{1}{6}}

Watch what happens

\bf{\cfrac{2}{6}+\cfrac{1}{6}}

Add the numerators

\bf{\cfrac{2+1}{6}}

\bf{\cfrac{3}{6}}

Simplifying the fractions

\bf{\cfrac{3\div3}{6\div3}}

\bf{\cfrac{1}{2}}

Hope that helped

One gram of water has a volume of 1 millimeter. What is the volume of the water if it has a mass of 1 kilogram
Zinaida [17]
There are 1,000 grams in a kilogram.
Each gram of water has a volume of 1 milliliter (the question said millimeter but that measures length and I think it was meant to say milliliter).
Since there are 1,000 grams with a volume of 1 millimeter each, the volume is 1,000 milliliters, which is equal to 1 liter.
Hope this helps!

Bumek [7]

Answer:

The resulting matrix will be 11 * 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Matrices 11 * 6 multiplied by 6 * 7

Required

The dimension of the resulting matrix

When a matrix a * b is multiplies by a matrix b * c, the resulting matrix will be: a * c

In this case:

a * b = > 11 * 6

b * c => 6 * 7

So, the resulting matrix will be:

a * c => 11 * 7
