X and y have the values of 16 and -16, absolute value makes it so that the distance from a number to zero is what we must account for, and since both 16 and negative 16 have 16 points of difference to zero, these are plausible answers.
They will combine to equal zero if and only if one is positive 16 and the other is negative, thus showing that if the relationship has a given of having to equal 0, then a double positive or a double negative cannot also occur.

On a piece of paper, draw a box plot to represent the data below. Then

Since they are already in order you know the 22 and the 61 are the upper and lower extremes. To find the median you find the number that is in the middle which is 42. To find the lower quartile find the middle number starting from the first number and the number to the left of the median (22 and 36 in this case). The loser quartile is 25. To find the upper quartile, fine the middle number between the number to the right of the median and the last number (44 and 61 in this case.) the upper quartile is 57 you then just plot it and graph it

How can you determine the difference between an arithmetic and geometric sequence if you are given the first 4 terms of the sequ
Bess [88]
Compute successive differences of the terms.

If they are all the same, the sequence is arithmetic and the common difference is the difference you have found.

If successive pairs of differences have the same ratio, the sequence is geometric and the common ratio is the ratio you have determined.

Example of arithmetic sequence:
  1, 3, 5, 7
Successive differences are 3-1 = 2, 5-3 = 2, 7-5 = 2. All the differences are 2, which is the common difference of the sequence.

Example of geometric sequence:
  1, -3, 9, -27
Successive differences are -3-1 = -4, 9-(-3) = 12, -27-9 = -36. These are not the same, so the sequence is not arithmetic. Ratios of successive pairs of differences are 12/-4 = -3, -36/12 = -3. These are the same, so the sequence is geometric with common ratio -3.
