In a flower where the sepals, petals, and stamens are attached below the ovary, the flower is said to be Hypogynous Flower.

Hypogynous Flower is a flower consisting of ovary, sepals, petals and stamens where ovary is attached above the various constituents of a given flower.

The rim of ovary or the Gynoecium lies above the thalamus of the flower. It is the female reproductive part of the flower.

Ovary lies superiorly to rest elements of the flower.

Example of Hypogynous Flower:

  • Tomato
  • Mulaithi
  • Datura
  • Pea
  • Grama
  • Chilli
  • Indigofera

Based on the position of corolla i.e. Petal, calyx i.e. Sepal and androecium i.e. Stamen, flowers are classified into Hypogynous Flower, Perigynous Flower and Epigynous Flower.

  • Perigynous Flower : Gynoecium lies at the level of other flower constituents
  • Epigynous Flower : Gynoecium below the level of other flower constituents

Which of the following effects would you expect if red blood cells were shaped like neurons? A. They would not be able to move a
wolverine [178]

Answer: Option C) They would not need to be transported through the body.

Explanation:

Red blood cells are a type of blood cell that have a biconcave disc shape and lack nucleus. They are transported around the body where they distribute oxygen.

Neurons, on the other hand, are a type of cell in the nervous system. They are of different types and are interconnected to one another such that they do not need to be transported at all while they transmit impulses around the body.

Thus, if red blood cells were shaped like the interconnected neurons, there would be no need for them to be transported through the body.
