Answer: 29 centimeters long

Step-by-step explanation: What you want to do in this kind of situation is to combine all like terms. After, you would get 6x + 24 = 150. What you would do here is to get 6x by itself by subtracting 24 on both sides. Now 6x = 126, to isolate the variable you divide 6 on both sides to get x = 21. However, the questions is asking for the longest side and you know that x + 8 will be the greatest out of all. So, x = 21 + 8 equals 29 centimeters. I hope this helps, please give me a brainlest! :)

We know that the polygon is a six side shape because there is 6 measurements

Perimeter: all sides added

First add the given numbers
6+4+5+8+1=24

Then subtract that number from answer
150cm-24cm=126cm

Divide that by the amount of numbers
126/6=21

That means ’x’ is 21
Now you have;
21(x)
27(x+6)
25(x+4)
26(x+5)
29(x+8)
22(x+1)

Make sure they all add to 150
21+27+25+26+29+22=150cm

To find the longest side you look and the largest number which is 29

LONGEST SIDE= x+8

The perimeter of a square is to be between 14 and 72 feet, inclusively. Find all possible values for the length of its sides. (&
xxMikexx [17]
We know that the perimeter is the all the sides added up together. Generally, you have p = 2l+2w, where l is length and w is width.

For a square, all sides are of the same length, so you can write p=4x, where x is any side.

If the smallest perimeter is 14, then 14 = 4x, so x is 3.5. If the largest perimeter is 72, then 72 = 4x, so x is 18.

Therefore, you have 3.5 ≤ x ≤ 18.

Use the quadratic formula to solve x2+7x+3. Show all of your work. Then describe the solution.
Mariana [72]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The coefficients of the quadratic x^2 + 7x + 3 are a = 1, b = 7 and c = 3.

The discriminant is b^2 - 4ac, or 49 - 4(1)(3), or 49-12, or 37.

Because the discriminant is positive, we know that this quadratic equation has two real, different solutions.

      -7 ± √37

x = ---------------   =>   x = (-7 + √37)/2  and  x = (-7 - √37)/2

             2

In words:  This quadratic equation has two real, unequal solutions involving the radicand 37.
