In subduing tawhiri, tū created peace in the heavens and the earth. stopping to think, he considered the actions that had led to

this war, and became angry at his brothers for fleeing into hiding when tawhiri attacked. in his anger, tū chopped down the forests to find tane and threw him into a basket. next, tū searched out haumia and rongo by digging into the soft earth, and put them in the basket as well. at last, tū made nets to capture tangora's fish, and lured tangora into the basket. in a rage, tū opened his mouth and ate his brothers to punish them for their cowardice. tū's descendants became the maori, the humans who are able to master anything that they decide to conquer: the forest, the sea, the food, and the earth. –"the maori: genealogies and origins in new zealand" which details reveal courage as a maori value? check all that apply. The details that reveal courage as a Maori value are:

 • “In subduing Tawhiri, Tū created peace in the heavens and the earth.”
 • “Tū opened his mouth and ate his brothers to punish them for their cowardice.”
 • “The Māori, the humans who are able to master anything that they decide to conquer”

Which details show that the Maori value courage?

The fact that Tū had to be courageous when subduing Tawhiri was the reason the heavens and the earth was creted which shows that courage gets things done.

If you are not courageous according to the Maori, you would be punished as Tū did to his brothers when he ate them up for cowardice. The Maori's courage is what allows them to conquer everything they set out to.

Poets use imagery and words with different connotations and denotations. In a paragraph, define and provide an example of imager
Fiesta28 [93]
Hi,
www.dictionary.com is a great place to look up definitions, but I'll give you a really brief and basic overview.

Imagery is the rhetorical tool writers use to creates mental images in a writer's mind by using descriptive words. Denotation and connotation are tricky but fun; denotation is the exact meaning of a word, while connotation is the mood it invokes or how it comes across. For instance, "tug" and "heave" have the same denotation or definition, but "heave" sounds a lot more laborious or hard, which makes gives it a different connotation.

You can find your own examples in the poem (you got this!), but here's a quick guideline:

For imagery, find a line or phrase that is so descriptive, you can almost see it.
For denotation and connotation, find two words whose meanings are similar but that take on different tones.

As for supporting your answers with the Declaration of Emancipation, you'll have to do your research. I'll help clarify, but ultimately, the answer's yours :)

Renaissance instrumental
navik [9.2K]
Instrumental music throughout the Renaissance was closely associated with vocal music. Only at the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and at a few other chapels with choirs of competent singers, was polyphonic church music consistently sung unaccompanied. Elsewhere the organ, lute, viols, or other instruments accompanied, doubled, or substituted for voices, and organists developed a huge repertory of music for use in church services, including preludes, interludes, and arrangements of liturgical melodies. In secular music, the lute remained popular both for solos and in ensembles; clavier instruments were coming into wider use, and hundreds of pieces were written for chamber music ensembles.
