In the first paragraph, Miss Conway's choice of clothing is intended to convey her sorrow.

Miss Conway was dressed in all black which meant she had just lost someone, depicting sorrow. Mr. Donovan soon learned that her fiancé had died. Miss Conway wore a night-black dress of soft, sheer fabric. Her rich golden hair hung softly and thickly at the nape of her neck. Her face wasn't very pretty, but her big gray eyes looked almost beautiful. In O. Henry's book The Count and the Wedding Guest, she is said to be not very pretty. She was small and quiet, the new boarder at school.

The correct answer is option 2.

Read the passage from Eleanor Roosevelt’s speech on the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

Roosevelt’s goal in the passage is to persuade the general assembly to pass the UDHR at the fourth session.

Explanation:

This is because the soviet proposal is made in order to defer the consideration of the declaration in the 4th session of the assembly. There must be approval by the assembly in the 4th session before the declaration of the rights is too late. There was rejection of the committee because of the different facts and finally it was passed in the 4th session.
