Verna von Pfetten believes in the article “Read This Story Without Distraction (Can You?),” that monotasking has its advantages although the environment has more to do with concentrating than one might think. Everyone knows “multitasking” doesn’t really exist. The brain cannot multitask. Instead, it changes from one task to another, meeting the demands of only one at a time. There is a cost associated with this switch, resulting in brain power being eaten away driving productivity to slip.

What are the multitasking talents?

 • Managing several social media reports.
 • Attending to music while exercising.
 • Cooking dinner while speaking on the phone.
 • Having a conversation while driving.
 • Scheduling multiple orders at once.
 • Replying phone calls and emails simultaneously.
 • Prioritizing emails to reply to in a customer service setting.

in "Eavesdropping," how did author Eudora Welty forshadow her eventual epiphany and writing style in the beginning of the book?
Tju [1.3M]

The author of “Eavesdropping”, Eudora Welty, depicted herself as a silent type of person and quite an introvert. She doesn’t talk much or interact with others. Oftentimes, she eavesdropped the conversation of other people to be able to gain knowledge of their behaviour.

In the beginning of the book, she has depicted being a child who preferred listening to others rather than talking. In the end, as she grew older, her epiphany was that eavesdropping inspired her to write stories.
