The Atlantic Ocean lies between North and South America on the west and Europe and Africa on the east. Up north, the Atlantic connects to the Arctic Ocean and to the Southern Ocean to the south. Scientists frequently divide the Atlantic into basins: the North Atlantic and the South Atlantic.

Pacific straddles the hundred and eightieth meridian, the West Pacific (or western Pacific, close to Asia) is inside the Japanese Hemisphere, while the East Pacific (or jap Pacific, close to the Americas) is within the Western Hemisphere.

The Pacific Ocean is the world's biggest ocean, and a kind of half is placed inside the Southern Hemisphere. The Southern Pacific Ocean meets the Southern Ocean to the south, Australia to the west, and South the USA to the east
