There are not enough opportunities for her to choose from and always end up getting a supporting role or a side character that does not hold up any significance.
However, a man keeps on getting the same kind of roles even past the age of 35 and does not experience any decline in getting the roles. Movies are considered the most accessible representation of our society, and in Hollywood it is clearly understandable that women are honored only when they are 'young enough'.
