The difference between "The Monkey's Paw" and “Aladdin and the wonderful Lamp” is that it ended sadly in the Monkey's Paw. When their son Herbert returned, Mr. White wished him dead. Mrs. White died as a result of her wish. Aladdin, on the other hand, ended happily. Aladdin defeated Jafar by tricking him into turning into a genie and forcing him to enter the genie lamp. Then he married Jasmine, became a prince, and lived happily ever after!

The similarities in "The Monkey's Paw" and “Aladdin and the wonderful Lamp” is that both Aladdin and The Whites, that is characters in both stories get their wishes.
