Historians are still unsure as to why the Ancestral Puebloans left their home in Mesa Verde and have come up with several reasons to explain it.

One of those reasons could be overuse of the land which led to a lack of food production. There could have also been social and political problems.

In conclusion, there are several possible reasons for the Ancestral Puebloans leaving.
