What caused education and publishing to expand?

History
1 answer:
Anna [14]2 years ago
3 0
  • After roughly 1650, there was a significant rise in reading material available, which was a direct outcome of and supported by the expansion of middle-class education, particularly among women.
  • The rich growth of the prose novel in the 18th century among the middle classes and the significant sales of almanacs and chapbooks among the less well-off show the larger readership.

Why are books released today more than they were a century ago?

Book publishing has expanded significantly since the early 19th century. Along with a significant increase, literacy rates rose in public schools and libraries. As a result, books gained popularity in this quickly expanding industry. Less frequent use of technological advancements enables volume to expand.

Newspapers and magazines underwent transformation in the 1980s as well. The launch of USA Today in 1982 was a major development for the newspaper industry. The first national newspaper had a slow start, but it quickly surpassed large city papers in readership and broke new ground in journalism.
