the product in mixed form is:

(1 + 1/6)*(3 + 4/5) = 5 + 13/15

<h3>How to get the product between the two mixed numbers?</h3>

Here we want to solve the product:

(1 + 1/6)*(3 + 4/5)

If we distribute that product we get:

1*3 + 1*(4/5) + (1/6)*3 + (1/6)*(4/5)

Now we can solve these, we will get:

1*3 + 1*(4/5) + (1/6)*3 + (1/6)*(4/5)

3 + 4/5 + 3/6 + 4/30

3 + 4/5 + 1/2 + 2/15

3 + 1/2 + (4/5 + 2/15) = 3 + 1/2 + (12/15 + 2/15) = 3 + 1/2 + 14/15

3 + 1/2 + 14/15 = 3 + 15/30 + 28/30 = 3 + 43/15

3 + 43/15 = 3 + 30/15 + 13/15 = 3 + 2 + 13/15 = 5 + 13/15

Finally, we can see that the product in mixed form is:

(1 + 1/6)*(3 + 4/5) = 5 + 13/15

There are 57 people and i want everyone to have a slice of cake and i want to pay as little as possible and I want them to be th
julsineya [31]
So,

If you do some simple division, you will find how much each cm costs in each cake.
20cm cake = 67.5 cents/cm
25cm cake = 93.75 cents/cm

Assuming that you cannot order fractions of cakes, the best deal would be to order 5 of the 20cm cakes.
Cost = 13.50 * 5 = $67.50

You will have to pay $67.50 for the cakes if you want the best deal.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could help! :)<br><br> Which graph represents the function?
Monica [59]

Answer: Upper right corner

=========================================================

How I got that answer:

The line y = x goes through (0,0) and (1,1). You would normally extend this line out as far as you can in both directions. However, the inequality x < -1 says you can only graph this if x is less than -1. We will not graph any part of the graph that is beyond x = -1 to the right. So we only have a small piece of it. The left piece of y = x. There is an open hole at the endpoint.

Similarly, y = -x is only graphed if x >= -1. We have a closed endpoint here. This graph goes through (0,0) and (1,-1). We erase the portion that is to the left of x = -1.

Doing all this leads to the upper right corner choice as our answer. The bottom right corner is close to the answer, but the open and closed endpoints are in the wrong spots.

5. What is the y-intercept of the line of best fit?
Verizon [17]

6. The y-intercept is 8

7. the slope is -1/2

8. Equation of line is: y = -\frac{1}{2}x+8

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us define y-intercept first

The y-intercept of the line is where the line intersects the y-axis.

<u>5. What is the y-intercept of the line of best fit?</u>

The given line on graph intersects the y-axis on 8 so the y intercept of the line of best fit is 8

<u>6. What is the slope of the line of best fit for  this scatter plot?</u>

The slope can be calculated by locating two points on line.

In the given line, we can easily observe two points

(2,7) and (4,6)

The slope is calculated by the formula

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Here (x1, y1) are the coordinates of first point on line and (x2,y2) are the coordinated of second point on line

So, putting the values

m=\frac{6-7}{4-2}\\=\frac{-1}{2}\\=-\frac{1}{2}

<u>7. What is the equation of the line of best fit?</u>

The slope intercept form of any line is given by:

y=mx+b

where m is slope and b is y-intercept of the line

As we already know

m = -1/2 and y-intercept is 8

Putting the values in the equation

y = -\frac{1}{2}x+8

An article reported the following data on oxygen consumption (mL/kg/min) for a sample of ten firefighters performing a fire-supp
nasty-shy [4]

Answer:

a) Range = 25.6

b) Variance = 48.1446

c) s = 6.9386

d) See below

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)  the sample range

To obtain the sample range, we must <em>sort the data increasingly</em> :

23.7, 26.3, 28.3, 28.7, 29.6, 29.8, 30.1, 31, 33.5, 49.3

Then, find the <em>distance between the largest and the lowest </em>

Range = 49.3 - 23.7 = 25.6

(b) the sample variance s^2 from the definition

In order to find the variance from the definition, we need first the mean. The mean is defined as the average

\bar x=\displaystyle\frac{\displaystyle\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_i}{n}

where the x_i are the values of the data collected and <em>n=10</em> the size of the sample.

So, <em>the mean</em> is

\bar x=31.03

Now, t<em>he variance of the sample </em>is defined as

s^2=\displaystyle\frac{\displaystyle\sum_{i=1}^n(x_i-\bar x)^2}{n-1}

and we have that <em>the variance</em> is

s^2=48.1446

(c) the sample standard deviation

The sample standard deviation is nothing but the <em>square root of the variance </em>

s=\sqrt{48.1446}=6.9386

d) s^2  using the shortcut method

The <em>shortcut method</em> figures out the variance without having to compute the mean. The formula is

s^2=\frac{n\sum x_i^2-(\sum x_i)^2}{n(n-1)}

where n=10 is the sample size .

So, using the shortcut method,

s^2=\frac{10*10,061.91-96,286.09}{10*9}=48.1446
