What is the end result of mitosis and cytokinesis? why is this so important?
makvit [3.9K]
The end result of mitosis is a cell that is exactly the same as the original cell. So, if you have Cell A and cell A goes through mitosis and produces cell B... Cell B is an exact clone/replica of cell A with NO VARIATIONS. It's literally like cloning (Asexual reproduction).

Cytokinesis is part of the cell cycle, it is the last stage where a plate forms between both the cells to separate them from each other and to form two individual cells.

Mitosis is important because it is a fast way of producing replicas of cells. Cytokinesis is important to differentiate or create boundaries between the cells.

In C3 plants the conservation of water promotes _____.
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

Photorespiration

Explanation:

RuBisCo is the enzyme that catalyzes the first reaction of the Calvin cycle which in turn is a rate-limiting step. Photorespiration is the process during which the enzyme RuBP carboxylase/oxygenase (RuBisCo) catalyzes the reaction between oxygen and ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate to form 3-phosphoglycerate and 2-phosphoglycolate.

These two products are useless for the metabolism of cells. Photorespiration occurs since the RuBisCo enzyme has an affinity for both CO2 and oxygen. When CO2 is not available, as it occurs when plants close stomata during hot dry days to prevent water loss, photorespiration takes place. Therefore, stomatal closing in C3 plants to prevent water loss promotes photorespiration.

Martha wants to grow tomatoes to make her own salsa. She has two varieties (an heirloom
il63 [147K]

Answer:

Problem question: Which tomato variety will taste better in making salsa?

Independent variable; Variety of tomato

Dependent variable: Taste of the salsa

Explanation:

The aim of every experiment is to solve a problem or answer a scientific question about an observed problem. The first step in the scientific method is to ask a question. In this experiment in which Martha is trying to check which variety of tomato is best for making her salsa taste great, the problem question is: Which tomato variety will taste better in making salsa?

- Independent variable is the variable in an experiment that is changed or manipulated. In this experiment, the independent variable is the VARIETY OF THE TOMATO.

- Dependent variable is the variable that is measured in an experiment or in other words, the dependent variable responds to changes to the independent variable. In this case, the dependent variable is the TASTE OF THE SALSA.
