According to the commission on accreditation of allied health education programs, Kinesiotherapists emphasize development of functional fitness in disabled people.

Kinesiotherapists are the therapists who provide movement therapy. They use the rehabilitative exercise, reconditioning, and physical education to help the people move again. They are different from the physiotherapists as kinesiotherapists are generally involved in the treatment of athletes only.

Disabled people are those who suffer from some impairment that inhibits them to perform the basic life functions like other people do. Their are four categories of disability. These are:  intellectual, physical, sensory, and mental.
