A condition in which a person develops intense cravings for the substance and the inability to control their behaviors in regards to obtaining and using it is called "addiction".

Addiction refers to the physical and mental state or excessive dependence on something in which a person loses self-control over his undesirable actions.

Once this becomes a habit then it becomes difficult to get out of it.

As a result of overindulgence and great involvement in alcohol and drugs, it can lead to serious health issues such as heart risk, lung infection, and memory loss.

A person suffering from such a condition must be admitted to a drug treatment center.
