Three rational numbers between

1/3 and 1/5 are 4/15, 3/10, and 7/30

Given:The two numbers are 1/3 and 1/5

To find:The rational number between two numbers

Solution:Now, to find the rational number, add the numbers and divide their sum by 2.

(i) First rational number between

1/3, 1/5 = 1/3+1/5=8/5

Divide 18/5 by 2------> 8/15 x 1/2= 8/30= 4/15

The series becomes, 1/3, 4/15, 1/5

(ii) Second rational number

= 4/15+1/5 = 7/15

Divide

7/15 by 2 ------> 7/15 x 1/2 = 7/30

Hope this helps!

The decimal point of a positive real number is moved two digits to the right to form a different real number. When the positive
tekilochka [14]

Answer: 7/3

Step-by-step explanation: let the original real number be x. After moving the decimal point of this real number two digits to the right, the number becomes 100x. The positive difference between the two numbers is 100x - x = 99x. Dividing the difference by 11, we have 99x/11 = 9x, which we are told is 21, so we have the equation 9x = 21/9, which equals 7/3. Thus, the original real number is 7/3.

the equation x^3-3x=1 has a solution between 1.8 and 1.9. use a trial and improvement method to find this solution. give your an
Reika [66]

Answer:

The solution to the equation x³ - 3x = 1 is given as :

1.88

Step-by-step explanation:

In the above question, we are given the equation

x³ - 3x = 1 ... Equation 1

and we are told the answer lies between 1.8 - 1.9

Using the trial and improvement method approximating to 2 decimal places

a. First trial we use 1.84 for x in equation 1

1.84³ - 3×1.84 = 0.71

This first trial using 1.84 too small

b. Second trial we use 1.86 for x in equation 1

1.86³ - 3×1.86 = 0.86

This second trial using 1.86 as well is too small

c. For our third trial we use 1.89 for x in equation 1

1.89³ - 3×1.89 = 1.08

This third trial using 1.89 is large. Our target is 1.00

d. Our fourth trial we use 1.88 for x in equation 1

1.88³ - 3×1.88 = 1.004

Approximately to 2 decimal places.

We have = 1.00

Hence the solution to the equation

x³ - 3x = 1 after using the trial and improvement method is 1.88

Which of the following describes the end behavior over the domain of the square root function graphed above?
krok68 [10]

Answer:

A.

As x decreases in value, f(x) decreases in value.

As x increases in value, f(x) increases in value.

Step-by-step explanation:

As we move our eyes towards the right following the curve, we see that the y-values are larger and larger. As we move to the right following the curve, the values of the x-variable in the horizontal axis are increasing. Then as x increases, the values of f(x) also increase.

On the other hand, if we move our eyes to the left following the curve, this way looking into what values the function adopts for smaller and smaller values of x, we see that the f(x) values decrease (the curve goes down).

Then, to summarize:

a) As we move to the right, thus increasing the values of x, we see the values of f(x) increase

b) As we move to the left, thus decreasing the values of x, we see the values of f(x) decrease.

Convert the mixed number 1 2/3<br> to an improper fraction.
rodikova [14]

Answer:

5/3

Step-by-step explanation:

An improper fraction is a fraction, not in mixed form, where the numerator (top half) is greater than the denominator (bottom half). Since this fraction is 1 2/3, we already have 1 full and 2/3 full. So, since the 1 is full, it means that in fraction form it equals 3/3.

We can finally add the fractions. 2/3+3/3=5/3.
