Explanation:

The 1812 Overture was composed by Pyotr Iltich Tachikovsky to commemorate victory by the Russians against Napoleon's invasion ins 1812.

During the premiere of 1812 Overture, they didn’t use the cannons. The whole thing was a disaster of a performance. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. I think they were going to perform it at a new cathedral, but the cathedral wasn’t finished being built. They had to perform the piece in a tiny tent (hence no cannons). I don’t think they had all of the musicians and instruments too. They didn’t have the brass there. Tsar Alexander was meant to attend, however, he was assassinated before he could. Tchaikovsky also didn’t conduct it.
