Answer:

\sf slope =\dfrac{-3}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the slope, mark any two point on the line.

  (-2, 4)  ; (2 , -2)

\sf x_1 = -2 ; \  y_1 = 4 \\\\x_2 = 2 ; \ y_2 = -2 \\\\ \boxed{\bf Slope = \dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}}

           \sf = \dfrac{-2-4}{2-[-2]}\\\\=\dfrac{-6}{2+2}\\\\=\dfrac{-6}{4}\\\\=\dfrac{-3}{2}

Answer:

Slope is equal to -3/2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Finds two points on an exact point. For the case of demonstration, I'll use (2, -2) and (0, 1).

Now, you can either use a formula, or do the rise-over-run method. For the formula, it would be (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) = slope.

For this example, the equation would be (1 - (-2) / (0 - 2). Cancel out the negatives in the numerator, and you'd get (3) / (-2). This is equivalent to -3/2.

For the rise over run method, you count how many units it goes down and over. Using the same points, to get from one to the other, you need to go down three units and to the right to. Since we're decreasing, the three is negative. The "rise," or whatever increase/decrease it is, will go in the numerator, while the "run" will go in the denominator.

This would also get you -3/2. Ask your teacher whether or not they're fine with the rise-over-run method, because a few teachers require algebraic use.

When a number is written in scientific notion, how can you tell right away whether or not it is or than or equal to one?
nikklg [1K]
Well, to know right away whether or not a number is equal to 1, you need to know what 1 is in scientific notation. 1 * 10^0. Easy enough :) To know if the number is greater than one, any positive number multiplied by 10^a number higher than 0 is greater than one. As well as any number greater than one multiplied by 10^0 or a positive number. For numbers less than one, the way to know is if the number is being multiplied by 10 ^ a negative number. I hope this helps :)

The area of a rectangle painiting is given by the trinomial x^2-9x-36. what are the possible dimensions of the painting ? use fa
bagirrra123 [75]
<span> (x + 3) • (x - 12)
</span>

The first term is, <span> <span>x2</span> </span> its coefficient is <span> 1 </span>.
The middle term is, <span> -9x </span> its coefficient is <span> -9 </span>.
The last term, "the constant", is <span> -36 </span>

Step-1 : Multiply the coefficient of the first term by the constant <span> <span> 1</span> • -36 = -36</span>

Step-2 : Find two factors of  -36  whose sum equals the coefficient of the middle term, which is  <span> -9 </span>.

<span><span>     -36   +   1   =   -35</span><span>     -18   +   2   =   -16</span><span>     -12   +   3   =   -9   That's it</span></span>

Step-3 : Rewrite the polynomial splitting the middle term using the two factors found in step 2 above,  -12  and  3
                     <span>x2 - 12x</span> + 3x - 36

Step-4 : Add up the first 2 terms, pulling out like factors :
                    x • (x-12)
              Add up the last 2 terms, pulling out common factors :
                    3 • (x-12)
Step-5 : Add up the four terms of step 4 :
                    (x+3)  •  (x-12)
             Which is the desired factorization

Final result :<span> (x + 3) • (x - 12)</span>

Anyone wanna help a girl out????
dezoksy [38]

n is the number of the term you need.

Using the rule, replace n with 8 and solve:

k = 1/8(8)

k = 1/8 x 8/1 = 8/8 = 1

The eight term = 1

A car travels 60km in 30 minutes. In how much time will it cover 100 km?
Daniel [21]

Answer:

About 40 Minutes, Or something close to that

Step-by-step explanation:

The car covers 60 km in 90 minutes or its speed = 60 km*60/90 min = 40 km/hr . So to cover 100 km at the same speed it will take 100/40 = 40 Min
