For the year, Uptowne Furniture had sales of $818,790, costs of $748,330, and interest paid of $24,450. The depreciation expense
slava [35]

Answer:

Dividend paid in current year = $6,898

Explanation:

Calculating net profit

Sales = $818,790

Less: Costs = $748,330

Less: Interest = $24,450

Less: Depreciation = $56,100

Earning before taxes = Loss (10,090)

Tax benefits = $10,090 \times 34% = $3,431

Net losses = $10,090 - $3,431 = $6,659

Opening retained earnings = $172,270 Less: Losses for the year = $6,659

Balance = $165,611

Less: Closing balance = $158,713 = $6,898

Thus amount of dividend paid in current year = $6,898

Change in value of common stock will not be considered.

ahrayia [7]

Answer:

The answer is Problem Collective.

Explanation:

Simply,

Problem collective, or a Collective action problem is a shared problem that can be cooperated and solved collectively by those who are affected by it but they fail to do so because of their "Conflicting Interests."

Conflicting interests means that the goals of each country/individual are different and in order to come to a productive conclusion, each nation/individual has to make sacrifices and changes to their objectives. But as it doesn't happen, the problem persists and gets worse eventually.

Present three examples that illustrate how all decisions involve trade-offs
satela [25.4K]
It is probably safe to say that most if not all decisions involve trade-offs. For example a person may be offered a job that pays well but requires 7 days per week for a month and while this is good for a younger person with no other commitments it may not work for an older person with his own family commitments and other projects. Another decision could be that for support, a husband decides to not take on major time consuming projects while his wife is doing intensive studying to become certified in a field of her choosing so that he can support her. Another example is that when one cannot drive one's son with a disability to a beach to swim because it is too far and uses too much car gas, the money saved on gas some of it could be spent on his groceries.
