Whom did the New Deal help the least? What hardships did these individuals continue to suffer? Why were Roosevelt’s programs uns
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

The New Deal least helped the African American community in the United States. Most federal programs had discriminant practices in the hiring of African Americans. Social Security excluded domestic workers which was the primary employment of african american women and thus they were not eligible to receive Social Security. Roosevelt relied on his black cabinet to help out the african american community but it wasn't enough and they continued to suffer, President Roosevelt had to thread the fine political line in regards to civil rights movements, Gender norms of the day were very against women outside of the home space and in the workforce, as per the text "...relief policies encouraged women to remain home and leave jobs open for men." Most jobs of the time discouraged husbands and wife from acquiring a job from the same agency or from federal relief programs. Even though the effects of the New Deal on women was mixed at best, most women were strongly supportive of it. As has been the case for most of United states history, women and minorities never receive equal representation in government policies and implementations.
