Lourdes will have to jog for at least 0.4 hours.

Speed is a concept by which we measure how quickly something is moving or being done.

Speed = total distance travelled/ total time taken

Here, we are given that Lourdes plans to jog for at least 1.5 miles and her pace (or speed) is 3.75 miles per hour.

Let us assume that she jogs for 1.5 miles.

We know that Speed = distance/ time

⇒ 3.75 = 1.5/ time

Let time taken bye her be x

⇒ 3.75 = 1.5/x

3.75x = 1.5

Since, she wants to jog for at least 1.5 miles, the distance travelled by her must be ≥ 1.5

⇒ 3.75x ≥ 1.5

x ≥ 1.5/3.75

x ≥ 0.4 hours or 24 minutes.

Thus, Lourdes will have to jog for at least 0.4 hours.

Margaret [11]
In order to find the number, we will need to set it up in an equation. In total, there are 460 students while 60% of them have pets. Lets set that up.
460(60%)
In order to correctly do this, we will need to transfer 60% into a decimal, which is .6. Now we will rewrite it.
460(.6)
This now can be represented by the number 276.Since we know that 276 is 60% of 460, The total number of students that have pets will be 276.
