Social loafing occurs when an individual exerts less effort in a group because of the decreased accountability for individual effort.

Social loafing is the phenomenon of a person exerting less effort to achieve a goal when they work with a group then working alone. It is therefore observed that groups are sometimes less productive than when the members are working as individuals. Max Ringelman, a French professor demonstrated this phenomenon by the example of rope pulling. He made people pull on ropes, both separately and in groups and measured and compared how hard they pulled. The experiment indicated that the members of a group exerted less pressure than did individuals alone.

The main reason for members of the group to exert less pressure stems from individual members' feeling that their efforts will not matter to the group. Several studies found the most prevalent motivational origins of social loafing to be the lack of an understanding of individual contributions, unchallenging tasks given to the individual, low personal satisfaction from the task, and lack of a united group.

inessss [21]

Being that this show Sesame Street was successful, we can argue that there was a need for such educational shows in the time.

Explanation:

For a children's show, Sesame street was incredibly poignant and tried to bridge the cultural an economical gap between children by showing progressive and thoughtful things on TV in a bid to inculcate progressive habits in children while starting early.

The aim of the show was to educate and not alienate the young audience which was not as financially well fed as the other casual TV viewing audience but deserved a show for their educational purposes too to educate the children along with giving entertainment to them.

All the while, the show was inclusive for all.

kodGreya [7K]

Something else that is noticed is that he has to treat the students with respect and does not hesitate to explain things to them in the ways that they would have to understand better.

How this method is significant?

This would help to make the students to be more attentive to Daniel as he goes through his lesson with them. The students would have established that the teacher is someone that they can relate to because he seems to understand them. The teacher also admitted his mistakes. This is one of the ways of building trusts between himself and the students that he has to teach.

Hence we can see that the teacher is making use of effective methods that can help to improve learning in the classroom.
