In an experiment to verify a certain theory. T.H Morgan crossed a male white-eye drosophila with a red-eyed female and all F1 in

dividuals were red-eyed . A subsequent selfing of the F1 individual gave all red- eyed females and 50% of males were red-eyed and white-eyed respectively
1. Which allele is recessive and dominant.
2. Using appropriate diagram to show the results of the parental and F1 crosses.
3. How will you describe this kind of trait inheritance in genetic.

1. The recessive allele is white and dominant is red.

2. The crosses are shown below.

3. He used term linkage to describe this kind of trait inheritance in genetic.

1.An allele of a gene is said to be dominant when it effectively overrules the other (recessive) allele. So, the recessive allele is white and dominant is red.

2. Morgan conducted many dihybrid crossings in Drosophila to investigate the sex-related genes. As an illustration, Morgan hybridised yellow-bodied Red-eyed females with brown bodies and white eyes interbred with white-eyed males. In F1 progeny, the two genes did not segregate separately, he noticed. The F2 ratio greatly departed from the 9:3:3:1 target  (as would be predicted if the two genes are unrelated).

The reference image is shown below,

3. Knowing that the genes were on the X chromosome, Morgan  noticed that the proportion of parental gene combinations was substantially larger than the non-parental type and attributed this to the physical relationship or linkage of the two genes and developed the terms "recombination" and "linkage" to characterise this physical association of genes on a chromosome.

After the protein has fallen off the operon, the ____________ can then transcribe the DNA into mRNA.
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

The genetic material of most organisms is DNA, which stores the information required for the development, functioning, and reproduction of the organism. DNA is a long piece of nucleotides where both coding and non-coding regions can be identified within the nucleotide sequence. The coding regions contain the information for the production of functional proteins in the organisms. The process of production of the polypeptide chain of the protein inside the cell is known as protein synthesis. Transcription of DNA into mRNA and translation of mRNA into an amino acid sequence of the protein are the sequential steps of the protein synthesis.
