The amounts that Ali, Ahmes and Amir will receive from the inheritance would be:

 • Ali - Rs. 17,500
 • Ahmes - Rs. 120,000
 • Amir - Rs. 2,500

How much do each receive?

The amount that Ahmes receives is:

= 6/7 x 140, 000

= Rs. 120,000

Out of this, Amir should receive 1/7 what Ali gets:

1/7x + x = 20,000

x = 20,000 / (1 + 1/7)

= Rs. 17,500

Amir:

= 20,000 - 17,500

= Rs. 2,500
