It is important to use caution when administering transplant drugs with other immunosuppressant drugs due to greater chances of serious infection.

Immunosuppressants is a term that is used to refer to drugs or medicines which decrease the body's ability to reject a transplanted organ. These drugs are also sometimes called anti-rejection drugs.

There are 2 kinds of immunosuppressants:-

(1) Induction drugs - These are potent antirejection medicines which are administered during the time of transplant.

(2) Maintenance drugs - These are the anti-rejection medicines which are utilized for the long term.
