We can actually deuce here that in the given story, The Setting Sun and the Rolling World, what the author meant when he says Musoni "felt too much of a father" is that Musoni was being worried as a father over his son and even though he took chances when he was younger.

The statement from the story that clarifies that is: "He himself had taken chances before, in his own time, but he felt too much of a father"

What is "The Setting Sun and the Rolling World"?

"The Setting Sun and the Rolling World" is actually known to be a short story that was written by Charles Mungoshi. The story reveals a young boy who was about leaving home in order to go and explore the world.

His father, Musoni, a farmer is not willing to let him leave. But his son, Nhamo actually wanted to go and find a better life. But his father feels that he is too young and not yet ready to explore the world because of the danger out there.
