It is up to you to find happiness for yourself.

According to Aurelius, happiness in life "depends upon the quality of your thinking." His fundamental tenet is that while we have no control over what happens to us, we do have control over how we react to those events, which gives us a great deal of power and freedom.

Marcus Aurelius asserts that you can always have control over your ideas. Regardless of what may be happening around you, what you tell yourself about what is happening determines how you feel. You cannot find happiness outside of yourself, as well.
