which strategy will make this sample introduction more effective? when hansel and gretel are heartlessly cast off into the woods

to meet their fate at the home of the witch, it’s their stepmother who coldly sends them away so as to have fewer mouths to feed. cinderella’s wicked stepmother abuses her and forces her to spend her days tending to domestic chores while the stepmother and her "real" daughters live a life of luxury and ease. same with snow white; her stepmother tries to have her killed in a fit of jealousy over snow white’s superior beauty. this essay will argue that the theme of the "wicked stepmother" in these classic fairytales has influenced the portrayal of stepmothers in modern literature. by examining eight best-selling novels of the 21st century, i believe i can prove that this argument is valid.

Answer: The given sample can be made more effective by making the following changes in the introduction.

Explanation:

  • The introduction should be error-free and it must provide a general idea of the topic of the essay.
  • The introduction should convey what kind of materials and means will be used to develop and support the argument. Stating facts is a good strategy.
  • The introduction must contain a catchy and attention - grabbing opener so that the reader's interest is heightened and he keeps reading. Such an opener can be an anecdote, quotation, example or question.
  • The introduction should state the writer's opinion with confidence. It should not portray any hesitation or doubt. Note that if the writer himself is not clear of his claim, then he cannot convince the readers.

According to Ariel, how many feet under the sea is Ferdinand's father? 25 30 50
Advocard [28]

According to Ariel, Ferdinand's father is 30 feet under the sea.

Explanation:

Ariel's song features in the Tempest's Act i, scene II. The very first line mentions the information sought here.

It says: Full fathom five thy father lies. One fathom is equivalent to 6 feet so five fathoms will be about 30 feet. Full fathom five... is part of the second stanza of Ariel's song, which is more popular than the first stanza and is often presented in a standalone manner.

This stanza is believed to the source of catchphrases made of identical words and the phrase 'sea change'.
