The standard for pollution control equipment under the 1990 clean air act amendments are (i)Air quality, (ii)Ozone layer protection, (iii) Toxic air pollution, and (iv)Acid rain & regional haze,

President George H. W. Bush on November 15, 1990, signed the Clean Air Act and made it law. Specifically, it was made to deal with four major threats to the environment and the health of Americans i.e. acid rain, urban air pollution, toxic air emissions, and ozone depletion. Violations of it carry civil and criminal penalties. Although the health benefits of it far outweigh its cost. Its results are good in the air quality also.
