Wide, open clearings dotted with elaborate wooden homes may be seen all across Kiriwina as the dense jungle retreats who are basically known as Trobriander. The innermost constructions, arranged in concentric circles, are typically taller, brighter, and visibly more significant; they are made of skillfully stacked logs with intricate motifs painted in red, white, and black. However, the occupants of these imposing buildings are neither as brilliant nor human as they initially appear to be. These bwema, or yam houses, will be crammed with heaps of dark, bulbous tubers for a few months every year.

What is Trobriander ?

Off the east coast of New Guinea, there is a coral atoll archipelago called the Trobriand Islands that spans 450 square kilometers. They are situated in Milne Bay Province and are a part of Papua New Guinea. The Trobriands are one of the nearly 300 cultures represented in the eHRAF World Cultures anthropological database. They are a Melanesian people who principally inhabit four islands in Milne Bay Province, northeastern Papua New Guinea. The Trobriand culture collection in eHRAF is made up of 57 documents with a combined page count of 6,268.

Transcription in bacteria differs from transcription in a eukaryotic cell because __________________________. (a) RNA polymerase
Serggg [28]

The correct answer is: (a) RNA polymerase (along with its sigma subunit) can initiate transcription on its own.

More differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic transcription:

• In prokaryotes transcription occurs in the cytoplasm (unlike in eukaryotes in nucleus) and it is simultaneous with translation,

• In prokaryotes there is only one type of RNA polymerase (in eukaryotes there are three types of them).

• There is no sigma subunit in eukaryotes, the initiation of transcription begins thanks to initiation factors.

• Promoter region in prokaryotes contains pribnow box, while in eukaryotes it contains TATA and CAT box.
