The main idea of the passage is B) Because of a British media campaign people believed that eating carrots would improve their night vision. The general eye health benefits of carrots are due to their high vitamin A content. They don't help you see better in the dark.

This was a myth made by the British government during the world war II.  "The German Luftwaffe, or air force, started nighttime bombing Britain in 1940.
