The value of

  • x = 12°
  • m∠PQS = 71°
  • m∠PQT = 142°
  • m∠TQR = 41°

Given

SQT = (8x₋25) and PQT = (9x₊34)

SQR = 112°

we need to find the x angle and the remaining angles.

we know that QS bisects ∠PQT

⇒ 2(8x₋25)° = (9x₊34)°

(16x ₋ 30)° =  (9x₊34)°

16x ₋ 9x = 34 ₋ 30

x = 12°

substitute x value in the given values of angles.

m∠PQS = (8x ₋ 25)° = (8(12)₋25) = 71°

m∠PQT = (9(12)₊34) = 142°°

m∠TQR = 112° ₋ ∠PQS = 112° ₋ 71° = 41°

hence we get the desired angles from the given angles.

The coordinates of the top of a tree are (-3,8), and an acorn is attached to the tree at (-1,5). If we know that the acorn lies
Charra [1.4K]

Let's say that the coordinates of the squirrel are: (x, y)

Since the coordinates of the acorn is halfway, between the tree and the squirrel, that means the acorn is the midpoint.

To work out the midpoint you do:

(sum of x-coordinates) divided by 2, (sum of y coordinates) divided by 2.

We can use this to form an equation .

So the sum of the x coordinates of the tree and the squirrel = -1 :

x-coordinates of the squirrel:

\frac{-3+x}{2}=-1                   (now solve for x)

-3+x = -2

x=1

y-coordinates:

\frac{8+y}{2}=5                   (now solve for y)

8+y=10

y = 2

So the coordinates of the squirrel are: (1, 2)

Hi.
This is just messing around with exterior angles.
I say around 120 degrees, if I forgot what exterior angles were.
But with quick calculation, it is probably 120 degrees
