The answer to the question is-

A plant requires sunshine, carbon dioxide (CO2), and water for photosynthesis to occur. The mitochondria then break down the sugar once it has been produced through photosynthesis to produce energy for the cell. Animals only need mitochondria, not chloroplasts, because they obtain their sugar from the food they eat.

What is mitochondria?

Most eukaryotic organisms contain a mitochondrion, a double-membrane-bound organelle. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is used as a source of chemical energy throughout the cell, is primarily produced by mitochondria using aerobic respiration.

In some multicellular organisms, certain cells lack mitochondria. Numerous unicellular organisms, including microsporidia, parabasalids, and diplomonads, have diminished or changed the structure of their mitochondria.

We know that the red flower, to be red needs to have at least a dominant allele, so it could be either Rr or RR.
Let's try both scenarios.
If the white geranium (rr) is being crossed with RR, all the offspring would be red with genotype: Rr.
On the other hand, if the flower is Rr and it's being crossed with rr, that would result in half of the new generation plants having red flowers and the other half white flowers.
